State/UT-wise Number of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) Operating from Own Buildings as on 28-02-2025

The map illustrates the number of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) operating from own buildings across various States and Union Territories in India as on 28-02-2025. The total number of AWCs functioning from own buildings stood at 6,78,449. Among these, the top 10 States with the highest number of AWCs in own buildings are Maharashtra (72,735), West Bengal (63,445), Odisha (52,663), Uttar Pradesh (53,205), Karnataka (47,567), Madhya Pradesh (47,153), Tamil Nadu (40,749), Gujarat (37,207), Assam (38,739), and Chhattisgarh (39,004). These ten States collectively represent a major share of AWCs with permanent infrastructure, indicating stronger investment in early childhood care facilities.
