State/UT-wise Minority Status Certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017

There were 13055 minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017 were Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Karnataka.

As on 01-08-2017, the number of minority status certificates issued in Kerala was 4628, which accounted 35.45% of the total number of minority status certificates issued in India. Maximum minority status certificates issued in Kerala was 852 in 2011 during the period from 2005 to 2017. There were 3051 minority status certificates issued in Uttar Pradesh as on 01-08-2017. It accounted 23.37% of the total number of minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017. Maximum minority status certificates issued in Uttar Pradesh was 693 in 2012 during the period from 2005 to 2017. The number of minority status certificates issued in Tamil Nadu was 809 as on 01-08-2017, which accounted 6.2% of the total number of minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017. Maximum minority status certificates issued in Tamil Nadu was 240 in 2016 during the period from 2005 to 2017.

The number of minority status certificates issued in West Bengal and Karnataka was 696 and 690 respectively as on 01-08-2017. West Bengal and Karnataka accounted for 5.33% and 5.29% respectively of the total number of minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017. Maximum minority status certificates issued in West Bengal was 215 in 2007 and in Karnataka it was 186 in 2014 during the period from 2005 to 2017.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 75.63% of the total number of minority status certificates issued in India as on 01-08-2017.
