State/UT-wise LPG connections released in India during 2017-18

During 2017-18, the number of LPG connections released in India was 284.67 lakh; whereas it was 115.27 lakh during 2018-19 (from April-2018 to June-2018). The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of LPG connections released in India during 2017-18 were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The number of LPG connections released was 105.85 lakh, 65.71 lakh, 56.81 lakh and 56.3 lakh in East, North, West and South respectively part of Indian States/UTs during 2017-18. East, North, West and South part of Indian States/UTs accounted for 37.18%, 23.08%, 19.96% and 19.78% respectively of the total LPG connections released in India during 2017-18.

There were 284.67 lakh LPG connections released in Uttar Pradesh during 2017-18, which accounted 11.84% of the total LPG connections released in India during the same period. The number of LPG connections released in West Bengal was 33.102 lakh during 2017-18. It accounted 11.63% of the total LPG connections released in India during 2017-18. There were 32.187 lakh LPG connections released in Bihar during 2017-18, which accounted 11.31% of the total LPG connections released in India during the same period.

The number of LPG connections released in Maharashtra was 22.833 lakh and Karnataka was 16.345 lakh during 2017-18. Maharashtra and Karnataka accounted for 8.02% and 5.74% respectively of the total LPG connections released in India during 2017-18.

During 2018-19 (up to June-2018), there were 21.248 lakh, 7.455 lakh, 8.15 lakh, 7.416 lakh and 4.074 lakh LPG connections released in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka respectively.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 48.54% of the total number of LPG connections released in India as a whole during 2017-18.
