State/UT-wise Home Deliveries Attended by Skill Birth Attendant during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to home deliveries attended by Skill Birth Attendant (SBA) (Doctor/Nurse/ANM) in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

The number of home deliveries attended by SBA in Uttar Pradesh was 68,383 during 2019-20, out of which 1,796 (2.63%) deliveries were attended by SBA in urban areas and 66,587 (97.37%) deliveries were attended by SBA in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 64,167 home deliveries attended by SBA in Bihar during 2019-20. Out of these 64,167 home deliveries attended by SBA; 8,138 (12.68%) deliveries were attended by SBA in urban areas and 56,029 (87.32%) deliveries were attended by SBA in rural areas of Bihar during 2019-20. The number of home deliveries attended by SBA in Assam was 16,737 during 2019-20, out of which 87 (0.52%) deliveries were attended by SBA in urban areas and 16,650 (99.48%) deliveries were attended by SBA in rural areas of Maharashtra.

During 2019-20, there were 11,905 and 8,500 home deliveries attended by SBA in Jharkhand and Rajasthan respectively. Out of these 11,905 home deliveries attended by SBA in Jharkhand, 170 (1.43%) deliveries were attended by SBA in urban areas and 11,735 (98.57%) deliveries were attended by SBA in rural areas; and out of these 8,500 home deliveries attended by SBA in Rajasthan, 351 (4.13%) and 8,149 (95.87%) home deliveries were attended by SBA in urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.

Daman & Diu and Puducherry were found with 0 (zero) home deliveries attended by SBA during 2019-20.
