Total approval of grants-in-aid was Rs. 1,457.5 crore in India for cold chain projects by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31st Oct 2019). The top 5 States/UTs with respect to grants-in-aid approved for cold chain projects by MoFPI during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31.10.2019) were Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The grants-in-aid approved for Maharashtra was Rs. 279.87 crore for cold chain projects by MoFPI during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31st Oct 2019), which accounted 19.2% of the total grants-in-aid approved for cold chain projects in India by MoFPI. There was grants-in-aid approval of Rs. 160.02 crore for Andhra Pradesh for cold chain projects by MoFPI during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31/10/2019). It accounted 10.98% of the total grants-in-aid approved for cold chain projects in India by MoFPI during the same period. The grants-in-aid approved for Tamil Nadu was Rs. 115.66 crore for cold chain projects by MoFPI during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31.10.2019), which accounted 7.94% of the total grants-in-aid approved for cold chain projects in India by MoFPI.
During 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31st Oct 2019), there was grants-in-aid approval of Rs. 111.74 crore and Rs. 94.01 crore for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand respectively for cold chain projects by MoFPI. Uttar Pradesh accounted for 7.67% and Uttarakhand accounted for 6.45% of the total grants-in-aid approved for cold chain projects in India by MoFPI during 2016-17 to 2019-20 (as on 31/10/2019).
