As on 31st March 2017, there were 113328 Government Allopathic Doctors available in India. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to number of Government Allopathic Doctors available as on 31.03.2017 were Uttarakhand, Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
The availability of Government Allopathic Doctors was 10754 in Uttarakhand as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 9.49% of the total Government Allopathic Doctors in India. There were 9121 Government Allopathic Doctors available in Delhi as on 31st March 2017. It accounted 8.05% of the total Government Allopathic Doctors in India as on 31.03.2017. The availability of Government Allopathic Doctors was 8829 in West Bengal as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 7.79% of the total Government Allopathic Doctors in India.
There were 7616 and 7233 Government Allopathic Doctors available in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu respectively as on 31st March 2017. Rajasthan accounted for 6.72% and Tamil Nadu accounted for 6.38% of the total Government Allopathic Doctors available in India as on 31.03.2017.
The above mentioned 5 States/UTs accounted for 38.43% of the total Government Allopathic Doctors available in India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.
