State/UT-wise Functioning of Urban PHCs As on 31st March 2019

As on 31st March 2019, 5,190 urban primary health centres (PHCs) were functioning in India. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to functioning of urban PHCs as on 31.03.2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

The number of urban PHCs functioning in Uttar Pradesh was 624 as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 12.02% of the total urban PHCs functioning in India. There were 538 functioning of urban PHCs in Maharashtra as on 31/03/2019. It accounted 10.37% of the total urban PHCs functioning in India as on the same period. The number of urban PHCs functioning in Delhi was 535 as on 31.03.2019, which accounted 10.31% of the total urban PHCs functioning in India.

As on 31st March 2019, there was functioning of 463 and 448 urban PHCs in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal respectively. Tamil Nadu accounted for 8.92% and West Bengal accounted for 8.63% of the total urban PHCs functioning in India as on 31/03/2019.

Note: Rural and Urban PHCs consists of PHCs and HWCs-PHCs functional under respective areas.
