State/UT-wise Female Health Workers/ANMs at Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2017

As on 31st March 2017, there were 198356 Female Health Workers/ Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANMs) in position at Sub Centres in India. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres as on 31-03-2017 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.

The number of Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres was 28250 in Uttar Pradesh as on 31st March 2017. It accounted for 14.24% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India as on 31-03-2017. The number of Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres was 20151 in Bihar as on 31st March 2017. It accounted for 10.16% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India as on 31-03-2017. The number of Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres was 18253 in West Bengal as on 31st March 2017. It accounted for 9.2% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India as on 31-03-2017.

There were 14271 Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in Rajasthan as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 7.19% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India. There were 12073 Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in Andhra Pradesh as on 31st March 2017, which accounted 6.09% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India.

These above mentioned 5 states accounted for 46.88% of the total Female Health Workers/ANMs in position at Sub Centres in India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.
