The total expenditure of Rs. 10,223 lakh was incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in national health mission (NHM) in India during 2015-16. It has increased by 26.9% to Rs. 12,973.4 lakh during 2016-17 above 2015-16. We have seen annual decline of -8.56% in expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM in India to Rs. 11,863.5 lakh during 2017-18 against 2016-17. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM during 2017-18 were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM was Rs. 2,523.9 lakh in Uttar Pradesh during 2017-18, up by 30.13% versus Rs. 1,939.5 lakh during 2016-17. Annual de-growth of -40.11% has been observed in expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM in Madhya Pradesh from Rs. 2,059.8 lakh during 2016-17 to Rs. 1,233.7 lakh during 2017-18. The expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM was Rs. 1,717.2 lakh in Goa during 2016-17. It has decreased by -41.92% to Rs. 997.3 lakh during 2017-18 against 2016-17. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Goa accounted for 21.27%, 10.4% and 8.41% respectively of the total expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM in India during 2017-18.
During 2017-18, there was expenditure of Rs. 895.8 lakh and Rs. 883 lakh for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM in Rajasthan and Bihar respectively. Rajasthan accounted for 7.55% and Bihar accounted for 7.44% of the total expenditure incurred for spacing methods under family planning component in NHM in India during 2017-18.
