State & UT-wise Estimates of Egg Production from 2009-10 to 2013-14

The egg production estimate for All India was 602670.37 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 747518.75 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 144848.38 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 24.03% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14. The top 10 states in terms of the egg production estimate were: Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh during 2013-14.

The egg production estimate for Andhra Pradesh was 193958.45 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 227874.76 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 33916.31 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 17.49% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14. The egg production estimate for Tamil Nadu was 108475.73 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 141235.38 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 32759.65 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 30.2% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14. The egg production estimate for Maharashtra was 38640.12 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 48314.57 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 9674.45 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 25.04% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14.

The egg production estimate for West Bengal was 36977.96 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 47460.12 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 10482.16 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 28.35% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14. The egg production estimate for Haryana was 38453.06 lakhs in 2009-10. It increased to 43590.99 lakhs in 2013-14, recording a growth of 5137.93 lakhs as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the total growth was 13.36% during the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14.

These top 5 states accounted for 68.01% of the total egg production estimate in India as a whole in 2013-14.

The egg production estimate in Punjab was 43375.57 lakhs in 2013-14 (5.8% of All India). The egg production estimate in Karnataka was 41300.99 lakhs in 2013-14 (5.53% of All India). The egg production estimate in Kerala was 24768.77 lakhs in 2013-14 (3.31% of All India). The egg production estimate in Odisha was 23609.35 lakhs in 2013-14 (3.16% of All India). The egg production estimate in Uttar Pradesh was 18122.15 lakhs in 2013-14 (2.42% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 88.23% of the total egg production estimate in India as a whole in 2013-14.
