State/UT-wise Doctors at PHCs in Rural Areas As on 31st Mar 2019

As on 31st March 2019, there were 29,799 doctors in position at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in rural areas in India. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to doctors in position at PHCs in rural areas as on 31st Mar 2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Bihar. The number of doctors in position at PHCs in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Bihar was 3,180, 2,951, 2,186, 2,111 and 2,085 respectively as on 31.03.2019.
