The Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE) were under implementation since 2000-2001, 2009-10 and 1987-88 till 2017-18 for universalizing elementary education, secondary education and for providing infrastructural and institutional support to Government Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) respectively, in the country. The schemes of SSA, RMSA and Teacher Education (TE) have been subsumed under an Integrated Centrally Sponsored Scheme for School Education – Samagra Shiksha which has been launched from 2018-19.
The total Expenditure incurred was Rs. 2636637.15 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19 (As on 31.12.2018). We have observed an annual growth of 10.47% in total Expenditure incurred under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha to Rs. 4885824.93 lakh during 2016-17 versus Rs. 4422718.48 lakh during 2015-16. The Total Expenditure incurred under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha was Rs. 4678063.52 lakh during 2017-18. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Expendutiure incurred under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19 were Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The Expenditure incurred for Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 457993 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19 (As on 31.12.2018). It accounted 17.37% of the total Expenditure incurred under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19. The Expenditure incurred for Rajasthan was Rs. 311584.3 lakh during 2018-19, which accounted 11.82% of the total Expenditure incurred during 2018-19. The Expenditure incurred for Bihar was Rs. 258672.75 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19. It accounted 9.81% of the total Expenditure incurred during 2018-19. The Expenditure incurred was 237902.44 lakh for Madhya Pradesh and 123912.76 lakh for Tamil Nadu under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19, which accounted 9.02% and 4.7% of the total Expenditure incurred during 2018-19.
