State/UT-wise Cumulative Persondays Generated under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme from 2007-08 to 2017-18

Cumulative Persondays Generated under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) was 14359.22 lakhs in India during 2007-08. It has increased by 50.65% to 21632.48 lakhs during 2008-09 over 2007-08. We have observed annual growth of 0.27% in Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS to 23576.81 lakhs during 2016-17 versus 23514.43 lakhs during 2015-16. Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS was 16029.13 lakhs in India during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017) were Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS was 2040.83 lakhs in Tamil Nadu during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). It accounted 12.73% of the total Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in India during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in Tamil Nadu was 3999.42 lakhs during 2016-17, up by 8.48% from 3686.75 lakhs during 2015-16. Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS was 1995.34 lakhs in West Bengal during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017), which accounted 12.45% of the total Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in India. Annual de-growth of -17.76% has been seen in Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in West Bengal from 2864.97 lakhs during 2015-16 to 2356.07 lakhs during 2016-17. Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS was 1689.61 lakhs in Andhra Pradesh during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). It accounted 10.54% of the total Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in India during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). We have observed annual growth of 3.16% in Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in Andhra Pradesh to 2055.1 lakhs during 2016-17 versus 1992.1 lakhs during 2015-16.

Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS was 1628.57 lakhs in Rajasthan and 1172.36 lakhs in Madhya Pradesh during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). Rajasthan accounted for 10.16% and Madhya Pradesh accounted for 7.31% of the total Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in India during 2017-18 (till 11/12/2017). We have seen annual growth of 10.92% in Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in Rajasthan from 2341.25 lakhs during 2015-16 to 2596.81 lakhs during 2016-17. Cumulative Persondays Generated under MGNREGS in Madhya Pradesh was 1130.43 lakhs during 2016-17, down by -8.65% from 1237.42 lakhs during 2015-16.
