State/UT-wise Cases of Road Accidents due to Dangerous or Careless Driving/ Over-Taking/etc. during 2020

Total 3,54,796 road accidents cases were reported during 2020 in India. Road accident cases in the country have decreased from 4,37,396 in 2019 to 3,54,796 in 2020. Out of 3,54,796 road accidents cases, 86,268 road accident cases were due to dangerous or careless driving/ over-taking/etc.

The top 10 states in terms of road accident cases due to dangerous or careless driving/ over-taking/etc were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Haryana, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. There were 69,380 road accident cases reported due to dangerous or careless driving/ over-taking/etc in these 10 states which were accounted for 80.4% of total cases.
