State/UT-wise ASHAs Selected under National Health Mission (NHM) as on September 2018

As on September 2018, there were 1031751 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) selected in India under National Health Mission (NHM). The top 5 States/UTs in terms of ASHAs selected under NHM as on September 2018 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

The number of ASHAs selected in Uttar Pradesh was 160378 under NHM as on September 2018, which accounted 15.54% of the total ASHAs selected in India under NHM. There were 88361 ASHAs selected in Bihar under NHM as on September 2018. It accounted 8.56% of the total ASHAs selected in India under NHM as on September 2018. The number of ASHAs selected in Madhya Pradesh was 75420 under NHM as on September 2018, which accounted 7.31% of the total ASHAs selected in India under NHM.

There were 70008 ASHAs selected in Chhattisgarh and 69041 in Maharashtra under NHM as on September 2018. Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra accounted for 6.79% and 6.69% respectively of the total ASHAs selected in India under NHM as on September 2018.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 44.89% of the total ASHAs selected in India as a whole under NHM as on September 2018.
