State/UT-wise Anganwadi Workers working in India as on 31st March 2018

As on 31st March 2018, there were 1293945 Anganwadi workers working in India. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of maximum number of Anganwadi workers working in India as on 31st March 2018 were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

The number of Anganwadi workers working in Uttar Pradesh was 173383 as on 31-03-2018, which accounted 13.4% of the total Anganwadi workers working in India. There were 107514 Anganwadi workers working in West Bengal as on 31-03-2018. It accounted 8.31% of the total number of Anganwadi workers working in India as on 31st March 2018. The number of Anganwadi workers working in Maharashtra was 107170 as on 31st March 2018, which accounted 8.28% of the total Anganwadi workers working in India.

As on 31st March 2018, there were 97133 and 88174 Anganwadi workers working in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar respectively. Madhya Pradesh accounted for 7.51% and Bihar accounted for 6.81% of the total number of Anganwadi workers working in India as on 31.03.2018.

The bottom 5 States/UTs in terms of minimum number of Anganwadi workers working in India as on 31st March 2018 were Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Chandigarh and A & N Islands with 102, 107, 302, 465 and 720 workers respectively.
