State Revenue from Road Transport during 2001 to 2012

State revenue generated from ‘Motor Vehicle Tax and Fees’ has grown by 14.2% CAGR during the years 2001 to 2012. State revenue generated from ‘Sales Tax on Motor Spirit and Lubricants’ has grown by 8.7% CAGR during the years 2001 to 2012. State revenue generated from ‘Sales Tax on Passenger and Goods Traffic’ has grown by 12.3% CAGR during the years 2001 to 2012. Highest state revenue (28897 million) was generated from ‘Motor Vehicle Tax and Fees’ during 2011-12 in comparison to ‘Sales Tax on Motor Spirit and Lubricants’ and ‘Sales Tax on Passenger and Goods Traffic’. A consistent growth has been seen in state revenue form ‘Motor Vehicle Tax and Fees’ during 2001 to 2012.
