Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to State wise Consumer Price Index with base year 2010 =100.
The 5 States/UTs with lowest increase in CPI were Chandigarh (2.9 points), Andaman and Nicobar islands (2.9 points), Punjab (2.6 points), Tripura (2.3 points) and Mizoram (1 point).
