State Level Consumer Price Index (CPI) during April 2014 to November 2014

CPI measure changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to State wise Consumer Price Index with base year 2010 =100.

The 5 states with highest increase in CPI are Meghalaya, Orissa, Bihar, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Tripura during the period. CPI for Meghalaya has increased from 152.1 in April 2014 to 166 in November 2014 showing an increase of 13.9 points. CPI for Orissa has increased from 137 in April 2014 to 149.4 in November 2014 showing an increase of 12.4 points. CPI for Bihar has increased from 142.8 in April 2014 to 151 in November 2014 showing an increase of 8.2 points. CPI for Andaman & Nicobar Islands has increased from 130.8 in April 2014 to 138.9 in November 2014 showing an increase of 8.1 points. CPI for Tripura has increased from 142.8 in April 2014 to 150.8 in November 2014 showing an increase of 8 points.

The 5 states with lowest increase in CPI are Delhi (4.9 points); Goa (4.8 points); Uttaranchal (4.3 points); Mizoram (3.2 points) and Manipur (2.7 points).
