Sector-wise Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India from 2010-11 to 2016-17

A total of 32170 Manpower were Employed in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2010-11. It has decreased by -0.56% to 113196 during 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have seen de-growth of -0.5% in total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India from 110613 during 2015-16 to 110058 during 2016-17.

During 2016-17, total 110058 Manpower were Employed in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India. Out of these 110058 Manpower; Exploration & Production Sector has the highest percentage share in terms of Employment followed by Marketing, Refining, Others, Pipelines and Research & Development Sector. In Exploration & Production Sector, there was 30.12% (33152) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of 1.84% and -0.91% in Employment under Exploration & Production Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively. In Marketing Sector, there was 27.94% (30751) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of 0.53% and -1.63% in Employment under Marketing Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.

In Refining Sector, there was 22.8% (25089) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of -2.14% and 1.6% in Employment under Refining Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively. In Others Sector, there was 12.17% (13391) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of -4.25% and -2.4% in Employment under Others Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.

In Pipelines Sector, there was 5.17% (5689) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of 5.84% and 5.66% in Employment under Pipelines Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively. In Research & Development Sector, there was 1.8% (1986) Employment out of the total Employment in Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2016-17. We have observed an annual growth of -1.18% and -5.47% in Employment under Research & Development Sector of Oil & Gas CPSEs in India during 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
