Schools Having Electricity Connection (2010-11 to 2012-13)

In the year 2012-13, top ten states/UTs having the highest percentage of schools with electricity connections are Chandigarh (100%), Lakshadweep (100%), Puducherry (100%),Punjab (99.8%), Delhi (99.7%), Gujarat (98.7), Goa (97.5%), Haryana (97%), Karnataka(96.5%) and Tamil Nadu (96.5%).

A few states such as Bihar (4.80%), Jharkhand (11.10%), Assam (13.93%), Meghalaya (16.61%), Tripura (19.81%), Jammu & Kashmir (20.37%), Madhya Pradesh (23.14%), Odisha (23.88%), Manipur (24.25%) and Arunachal Pradesh (24.52%).have a very low percentage share of schools with electricity connections.

Percentage of schools having electricity connection has considerably increased in Himachal Pradesh (by 24%), Uttarakhand (by 20%), Andhra Pradesh (by 19%), Chhattisgarh (by 19%) and in Maharashtra (by 11%) between the years 2010 and 2013.
