Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) – Premium Income from 2001-02 to 2013-14

The Premium Income from Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) has increased from Rs. 94.71 crores in 2001-02 to Rs. 1960.25 crores in 2013-14. There was an increase of Rs. 1865.54 crores in Premium Income from RPLI during this period. The overall growth rate recorded during this period was 1969.74 %. The average annual growth rate recorded during this period was 164.14 %.

The top five years with the highest Premium Income from RPLI during the financial year in the period between 2001-02 and 2013-14 were: 2013-14 (Rs. 1960.25 crores RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2012-13 (Rs. 1703.16 crores RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2011-12 (Rs. 1558.94 crores RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2009-10 (Rs. 1357.31 crores RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year) and 2010-11 (Rs. 1111.48 crores RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year). Thus, it can be inferred that Premium Income from RPLI has shown an upward steady increasing trend in absolute terms in the period between 2001-02 and 2013-14 except year 2010-11.

The top five years with the highest % growth in Premium Income from RPLI during the financial year in the period between 2001-02 and 2013-14 were: 2002-03 (80.93% growth in RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2004-05 (55.25% growth in RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2009-10 (54.37% growth in RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year); 2003-04 (43.16% growth in RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year) and 2011-12 (40.26% growth in RPLI – Premium Income during the financial year).
