Revenue and Profit/Loss of BSNL from 2016-17 to 2018-19

India has witnessed a decreasing trend in revenue and an increasing trend in losses for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) during 2016-17 to 2018-19. As per Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) guidelines, BSNL has been declared as “Incipient Sick”on 05.09.2017.

Revenue of BSNL was Rs. 31,533 crore in 2016-17. It has tanked by -20.49% to Rs. 25,071 crore during 2017-18 above 2016-17. We have observed annual decline of -22.99% in revenue of BSNL to Rs. 19,308 crore during 2018-19 against 2017-18.

Loss of BSNL was Rs. 4,793 crore in 2016-17. It has widened to Rs. 7,993 crore during 2017-18 over 2016-17, in percentage term it was plunged by 66.76%. Annual growth of 77.68% has been seen in loss of BSNL to Rs. 14,202 crore during 2018-19 versus 2017-18.
