Registration of New Private Limited Companies Limited by Shares in India during 2011-12

The total number of new private limited companies limited by shares registered in India during 2011-12 was 96159. The total authorised capital of these 96159 newly registered private limited companies was Rs. 23217.96 crores.

The region wise total number of new private limited companies limited by shares registered during 2011-12 was: Northern Region -30724 new private companies registered; Eastern Region -20864 new private companies registered; Western Region – 24010 new private companies registered and Southern Region – 20561 new private companies registered. Thus, the maximum number of new private limited companies limited by shares registered during 2011-12 was in the Northern Region where 30724 new private companies were registered during the period with a lead of 6714 over the second highest Region i.e. Western Region where 24010 new private companies were registered.

The total authorised capital of the new private limited companies registered in these four regions during 2011-12 was: Northern Region – Rs. 6841.22 crores (29.47%); Eastern Region – Rs. 2662.12 crores (11.47%); Western Region – Rs. 8453.96crores (36.41%) and Southern Region – Rs. 5260.66 crores (22.66%).
