Registered Motor Vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015

The total number of registered motor vehicles in India was 210023289 as on 31.03. 2015. There were 7 states having more than 10000000 registered motor vehicles viz. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as on 31.03. 2015.

The number of registered motor vehicles in Maharashtra was 25562175 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 12.17% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015.

The number of registered motor vehicles in Tamil Nadu was 22518669 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 10.72% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015. The number of registered motor vehicles in Uttar Pradesh was 21635531 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 10.3% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015.

The number of registered motor vehicles in Gujarat was 18720567 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 8.91% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015. The number of registered motor vehicles in Karnataka was 14784961 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 7.04% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015.

The number of registered motor vehicles in Rajasthan was 12378929 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 5.89% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015. The number of registered motor vehicles in Madhya Pradesh was 11141127 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 5.3% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015.

Among the Union Territories, Delhi had the maximum number of registered motor vehicles as on 31.03. 2015. The number of registered motor vehicles in Delhi was 8850720 as on 31.03. 2015. It had a share of 4.21% in the total number of registered motor vehicles in India as on 31.03. 2015.
