Region-wise Quantity of Foodgrains Damaged in Godowns of FCI during 2019-20

During 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), total foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI was 100.617 tonnes in India. The top 3 regions with respect to foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019) were Odisha, Punjab and NEF.

The quantity of foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI in Odisha was 43.036 tonnes during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), which accounted 42.77% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India. There was damage of 27.185 tonnes foodgrains in godowns of FCI in Punjab during during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019). It accounted 27.02% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India during the same period. The quantity of foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI in NEF was 18.833 tonnes during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), which accounted 18.72% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India.
