Region-wise Percentage share of Production of Natural Gas during 2016

World production of natural gas was 2879.237 million tonnes during 2010. It has increased by 3.06% to 2967.336 million tonnes during 2011 over 2010. We have observed annual growth of 0.56% in world production of natural gas to 3212.913 million tonnes during 2016 versus 3195.018 million tonnes during 2015. Europe & Eurasia region had the highest percentage share of 28.02% production of natural gas out of the total world production of natural gas during 2016, followed by North America, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Africa and S. & Cent. America. Percentage share of production of natural gas in North America, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Africa and S. & Cent. America regions were 27.08%, 17.87%, 16.24%, 5.84% and 4.96% respectively during 2016.

We have observed annual growth of 1.11% in production of natural gas in Europe & Eurasia region to 929.218 million tonnes during 2011 versus 919.007 million tonnes during 2010. Production of natural gas in Europe & Eurasia region was 900.12 million tonnes during 2016, up by 0.47% from 895.872 million tonnes during 2015. Annual growth of 5.59% has been seen in production of natural gas in North America region to 772.243 million tonnes during 2011 versus 731.358 million tonnes during 2010. Production of natural gas in North America region was 870.061 million tonnes during 2016, down by -2.24% from 889.971 million tonnes during 2015. We have observed annual growth of 6.75% in production of natural gas in Middle East region from 445.841 million tonnes during 2010 to 475.95 million tonnes during 2011. Production of natural gas in Middle East region was 574.022 million tonnes during 2016, up by 3.56% from 554.268 million tonnes during 2015.

Annual growth of 2.2% has been observed in production of natural gas in Asia Pacific region from 441.542 million tonnes during 2010 to 451.249 million tonnes during 2011. Production of natural gas in Asia Pacific region was 521.906 million tonnes during 2016, up by 3.21% from 505.692 million tonnes during 2015. We have seen annual de-growth of -1.81% in production of natural gas in Africa region to 188.439 million tonnes during 2011 versus 191.919 million tonnes during 2010. Production of natural gas in Africa region was 187.503 million tonnes during 2016, down by -0.81% from 189.031 million tonnes during 2015. Annual growth of 0.45% has been seen in production of natural gas in S. & Cent. America region from 149.57 million tonnes during 2010 to 150.237 million tonnes during 2011. Production of natural gas in S. & Cent. America region was 159.3 million tonnes during 2016, down by -0.55% from 160.185 million tonnes during 2015.
