Ram and Wether Sheep Shorn during 2014-15

The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India was 210.13 lakhs during 2014-15. The top 10 states in terms of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn were: Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal during 2014-15.

The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Rajasthan was 117.11 lakhs during 2014-15. It was 55.73% of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India during 2014-15.

The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Karnataka was 58.97 lakhs during 2014-15. It was 28.06% of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India during 2014-15. The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Telangana was 9.45 lakhs during 2014-15. It was 4.5% of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India during 2014-15.

The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Jammu & Kashmir was 6.9 lakhs during 2014-15. It was 3.28% of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India during 2014-15. The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Uttar Pradesh was 3.68 lakhs during 2014-15. It was 1.75% of the number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India during 2014-15.

These top 5 states accounted for 93.32% of the total number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India as a whole during 2014-15.

The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Himachal Pradesh was 2.17 lakhs during 2014-15 (1.03% of All India). The number of ram and wether sheep shorn in Maharashtra was 2.14 lakhs during 2014-15 (1.02% of All India). The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 98.07% of the total number of ram and wether sheep shorn in India as a whole during 2014-15.
