Quarterly Bank Credit by Scheduled Commercial Banks in India from 2014-15 to 2018-19

The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Bank Credit by Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) in India during Q2 of 2018-19 were Maharashtra, NCT of Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat. Bank Credit by SCBs in Maharashtra was Rs. 25076009 millions during Q2 of 2018-19, up by 4.13% versus Rs. 24082241 millions during previous quarter same year (Q1 of 2018-19). We have seen growth of 8.78% in Bank Credit by SCBs in Maharashtra during Q2 of 2018-19 in comparison to same quarter previous year i.e., Q2 of 2017-18 from Rs. 23052959 millions. Growth of 7.5% has been observed in Bank Credit by SCBs in NCT of Delhi from Rs. 10521195 millions during Q1 of 2018-19 to Rs. 11310430 millions during Q2 of 2018-19. Whereas it was 20.34% in NCT of Delhi during Q2 of 2018-19 in comparison to same quarter previous year (Q2 of 2017-18) from Rs. 9398342 millions. Bank Credit by SCBs in Tamil Nadu was Rs. 8176334 millions during Q2 of 2018-19, up by 4.12% against Rs. 7853119 millions during Q1 of 2018-19. Growth of 10.38% has been seen in Bank Credit by SCBs in Tamil Nadu during Q2 of 2018-19 in comparison to same quarter previous year i.e., Q2 of 2017-18 from Rs. 7407302 millions.

Bank Credit by SCBs in Karnataka was Rs. 6138570 million and Gujarat was Rs. 5057790 million during second quarter of 2018-19. We have observed growth of 3.24% from Rs. 5945721 million and 4.34% from Rs. 4847457 million in Bank Credit by SCBs in Karnataka and Gujarat respectively during Q2 of 2018-19 in comparison to previous quarter same year (Q1 of 2018-19).
