Progress Update of Tamil Nadu Open Government Data Portal as on 31st August 2021

The Open Government Data Portal of Tamil Nadu https://data.tn.gov.in provides collated access to the resources (data-sets/apps) under the catalogs, published by different Government Departments of Government of Tamil Nadu in a structured machine readable format. The portal presently has 31736 resources / datasets in 3278 catalogs covering 64 Departments.

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (DPHPM) has been contributing the daily status of COVID-19 (Corona virus Disease) in Tamil Nadu from 16^th July 2020 onwards and the same has been uploaded on a daily basis, in the TNOGD portal.

In addition, DPHPM has also been contributing the COVID-19 Vaccination data across Health Unit district wise in Tamil Nadu from 24^th March 2021 onwards on daily basis and the same has been uploaded in the portal.

The Statistical Hand book (SHB) of Tamil Nadu for the year 2020 from the Department of Economics and Statistics (DES) was updated in the portal covering the major 42 sectors like Climate and Rainfall, Agriculture, Education, Health, Industries, Road and Transport, Animal Husbandry, Judicial Administration etc.

The Season and Crop Report of Tamil Nadu from DES, for the year 2018-19, consisting of peak sowing and harvesting of various seasonal crops in districts, season-wise rainfall occurred, classification of sources of irrigation etc., has been uploaded in the portal. As on today, the Season and Crop Report of Tamil Nadu for 3 years namely 2016-17, 2017-18 & 2018-2019, are available in the TNOGD portal.

In addition to District’s Hand Book data for 2017-18, The Department of Economics and Statistics has also shared the 32 District’s data for 2018-19, out of which 3 districts namely Erode, Salem and Nilgiris district’s data has been uploaded successfully in the portal.

Tamil Nadu Open University has contributed the data sets on the List of Study Centres under its jurisdiction in the year 2020, consisting of Lists of B.Ed Special Education Centres, B.Ed Study Centres, Jail Study Centres, Learning Support Centres, Learner Resource Centres, Programme Study Centres, Partner Institutions, Regional Centres, Work Centres, Details of Students enrolled and passed out and these are available in the TNOGD portal.
