Progress update 30th November 2020

The Open Government Data Portal of Tamil Nadu https://data.tn.gov.in has been established to provide collated access to the resources (data-sets/apps) under the catalogs, published by different Government Departments of Government of Tamil Nadu in a structured machine readable format. The portal presently has 23,421 resources / datasets in 1890 catalogs covering 62 Departments.

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine has been contributing the daily status of COVID-19 (Corona virus Disease) in Tamil Nadu and the same has been uploaded on a daily basis, starting from 16th July 2020 onwards, in the TNOGD portal.

The Statistical Hand book (SHB) of Tamil Nadu for the year 2019 from the Department of Economics and Statistics (DES) was updated in the portal covering the major 42 sectors like Agriculture, Education, Health, Industries, Road and Transport, Animal Husbandry, Judicial Administration etc.SHB COVER PAGE 2019

In addition, the District’s Hand Book data of 6 districts namely Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Nammakal, Villupuram, Vellore and Tiruvallur for the year 2017-18, from the Department of Economics and Statistics, have been uploaded in the portal. As of now, 16 district’s hand book data for the year 2017-18 were available in the TNOGD site.

Based on the COVID 19 data availability in the portal, the following Visualizations were published:

  • Statistics of COVID 19 Positive Cases in Tamil Nadu as on 30th September 2020.
