Progress Update of Tamil Nadu Open Government Data Portal as on 30-11-2019

The Open Government Data Portal of Tamil Nadu has been set up at https://tn.data.gov.in to provide collated access to the resources (datasets/apps) under catalogs, published by different government departments under Government of Tamil Nadu in open data machine readable format. The portal presently has 15,155 resources / datasets in 951 Catalogs from 54 departments.

The Statistical Handbook (SHB) of Tamil Nadu for the year 2009 was updated now in the portal and with this addition, 10 years data of SHB’s for the periods from 2009 to 2018 are available in the TNOGD portal for public use.

The datasets from Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine for the period 2017-18 have been updated covering the following major areas like:

• Cases/deaths due to Acute Diarrheal Diseases in Tamil Nadu
• Treatment Schedule for Malaria
• Immunization Schedule and performances in Tamil Nadu
• Fees structure for Registration of Births and Deaths in Tamil Nadu

In addition, the Non-Formal and Adult Education Department, under School Education Department, has contributed data, related to the district wise beneficiaries list in the selected districts under Saakshar Bharat Programme (Karkkum Bharatham Thittam) in Tamil Nadu for the period from 2011-12 to 2017-18.
