Production Performance of Top 3 CPSEs under DHI from 2010-11 to 2013-14

The Top 3 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under Department of Heavy Industry(DHI), Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, in 2013-14 were: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bridge and Roof Co. (India) Limited (B&R) and Engineering Projects India Limited (EPIL).

The total production of BHEL amounted to Rs. 43337 crores in the year 2010-11 (Actual).The total production of BHEL amounted to Rs. 40366 crores in the year 2013-14 (Provisional). There was an absolute decline of Rs. -2971 crores (-6.86%) in the production as compared to the year 2010-11 (Actual). BHEL accounted for 87.03% of total production of all the CPSEs under DHI in the year 2013-14 (Provisional).

The total production of B&R amounted to Rs. 1328.97 crores in the year 2010-11 (Actual).The total production of B&R amounted to Rs. 1401.4 crores in the year 2013-14 (Provisional). There was an absolute growth of Rs. 72.43 crores (5.45%) in the production as compared to the year 2010-11 (Actual). B&R accounted for 3.02% of total production of all the CPSEs under DHI in the year 2013-14 (Provisional).

The total production of EPIL amounted to Rs. 1103.69 crores in the year 2010-11 (Actual).The total production of EPIL amounted to Rs. 902.88 crores in the year 2013-14 (Provisional). There was an absolute decline of Rs. -200.81 crores (-18.19%) in the production as compared to the year 2010-11 (Actual). EPIL accounted for 1.95% of total production of all the CPSEs under DHI in the year 2013-14 (Provisional).

Note: Data values are Rs in crore. (i) 13 CPSEs namely, BPME, WIL, BBVL, RBL, TAFCO, CCIL, BLC, NBCIL, MAMC, NIDC, BOGL, RIC & BYNL have been closed. (ii) Braithwaite and BSCL have been transferred to Ministry of Railways/Ministry of Steel during August/September, 2010. (iii) Data of TCIL is not available as the Company initially under disinvestment is under winding up on order of the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta.
