Production Of Raw Silk And Silk Yarn during 2002-13

During 2002-2013, total production of raw silk grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.8% from 16319 metric tonne in 2002-03 to 23679 metric tonne in 2012-13. During this period, production of Mulberry silk, Tasar, Eri and Muga grew at CAGR of 2.5%, 19.8%, 9.0% and 1.6% respectively.

Total production of Sik Yarn grew at a CAGR of 3.4% from 825 metric tonne in 2002-03 to 1155 metric tonne in 2012-13 and during 2002-13, Spun silk yarn and Noil yarn, both grew at a CAGR of 3.4%.
