Production of Polymers under Major Petrochemicals from 2009-10 to 2016-17

Various products namely Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Polyestyrene (PS), Polypropylene (PP), Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and Expandable Polystyrene (EX-PS) were produced under Polymers group of Major Petrochemicals during 2009-10 to 2016-17.

Production of LLDPE was 897.069 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11, up by 31.39% from 682.771 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. We have seen annual growth of 9.44% in Production of LLDPE from 1204.568 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 to 1318.263 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. Production of HDPE was 887.193 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11, up by 3.61% from 856.3 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. We have seen annual growth of 15.4% in Production of HDPE from 1317.151 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 to 1520.037 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17.

We have observed an annual growth rate of -7.25% in Production of LDPE from 192.601 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10 to 178.628 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. Annual growth rate of 0.86% has been seen in Production of LDPE to 201.762 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 versus 200.032 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16. We have observed an annual growth rate of 9.65% in Production of PS from 269.549 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10 to 295.552 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. Annual growth rate of 0.9% has been seen in Production of PS to 311.345 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 versus 308.576 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16.

Production of PP was 2520.754 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. It has increased by 8.52% to 2735.537 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11 over 2009-10. We have seen annual decline of -0.72% in Production of PP from 4284.424 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 to 4253.392 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. Production of PVC was 1109.535 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. It has increased by 15.2% to 1278.177 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11 over 2009-10. We have seen annual growth of 1.64% in Production of PVC from 1437.889 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 to 1461.527 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. Production of EX-PS was 63.127 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. It has increased by 12.79% to 71.201 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11 over 2009-10. We have seen annual growth of 12.27% in Production of EX-PS from 86.197 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 to 96.772 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17.
