Production of Iron Ore in India from 2000-01 to 2015-16

There is no clear trend seen in Iron Ore production in India from 2000-01 to 2015-16. However a compound annual growth rate of 4.5% is observed in Iron Ore production in India during the above mentioned period. Production of Iron Ore was 80587 thousand tonne in India during 2000-01. In value term it was Rs. 21179513 thousand during 2000-01. Annual growth of 7% was seen in production of Iron Ore to 86226 thousand tonne during 2001-02 over the preceding year. In value term it was Rs. 24969189 thousand during 2001-02.

Annual growth of 13.61% was observed in production of Iron Ore from 187696 thousand tonne during 2006-07 to 213246 thousand tonne during 2007-08. Annual de-growth of -0.13% was seen in production of Iron Ore to 212960 thousand tonne during 2008-09 over 2007-08. We have observed an annual de-growth of -15.16% in production of Iron Ore from 152433 thousand tonne during 2013-14 to 129321 thousand tonne during 2014-15. In value term it was Rs. 32031498 and Rs. 276636789 thousand during 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively. We have seen an annual growth of 20.56% in production of Iron Ore to 155910 thousand tonne during 2015-16 over the preceding year. In value term it was Rs. 221158219 thousand during 2015-16.

A maximum annual growth of 23.99% was observed in production of Iron Ore in the year 2003-04 during the period under consideration. A maximum annual production of 218553 thousand tonne was recorded in production of Iron Ore in 2009-10 during the period under consideration.
