Production of Fibre Intermediate Petrochemicals from 2010-11 to 2017-18

Petrochemical products namely Acrylonitrile (ACN), Caprolactum, Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) and Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) were produced under Fibre Intermediate group during 2010-11 to 2017-18. Production of ACN was 37.61 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has increased by 85 basis points to 37.93 thousand metric tonne in 2011-12 over 2010-11. Production of ACN was 0 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 & 2017-18. Maximum annual growth of 12.28% has been seen in 2013-14 in Production of ACN during the period under consideration.

Production of Caprolactum was 122.85 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has decreased by -3.65% to 118.36 thousand metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. Annual decline of -1.14% has been observed in Caprolactum production to 85.97 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18 against 86.96 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. Maximum annual growth of 2.58% has been found in 2014-15 in Production of Caprolactum during the period under consideration.

Production of MEG was 746.32 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has increased by 33.53% to 996.57 thousand metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have observed annual growth of 1.99% in MEG production from 1110.5 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 to 1132.65 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18. Maximum annual growth of 33.53% has been seen in 2011-12 in Production of MEG during the period under consideration.

Production of PTA was 3190.59 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has increased by 3.67% to 3307.81 thousand metric tonne in 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have seen annual growth of 3% in PTA production to 3492.44 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18 versus 3390.56 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. Maximum annual growth of 8.02% has been observed in 2014-15 in Production of PTA during the period under consideration.
