Product-wise Production of Alkali Chemicals from 2010-11 to 2017-18

Products namely Soda Ash, Caustic Soda and Liquid Chlorine were produced in India under Alkali Chemicals group during 2010-11 to 2017-18. Production of Soda Ash was 2298.76 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has increased by 4.87% to 2410.82 thousand metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have seen annual growth of 14.39% in production of Soda Ash to 2989.57 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18 versus 2613.42 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17.

Production of Caustic Soda was 2408.73 thousand metric tonne during 2011-12, up by 3.18% against 2334.45 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. Annual growth of 5.7% has been observed in production of Caustic Soda from 2594.5 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 to 2742.31 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18.

Production of Liquid Chlorine was 1637.62 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11. It has increased by 125 basis points to 1658.08 thousand metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have found annual growth of 5.48% in production of Liquid Chlorine to 1899.41 thousand metric tonne during 2017-18 against 1800.67 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17.

Maximum annual growth rate of 14.39%, 5.7% and 5.48% has been seen in 2017-18 in production of Soda Ash, Caustic Soda and Liquid Chlorine respectively during the period under consideration.
