Product-wise Import of Inorganic Chemicals from 2010-11 to 2017-18

The top 3 products with respect to import of Chemicals under Inorganic Chemicals during 2017-18 were Calcium Carbonate, Carbon Black and Hydrogen Peroxide. Import of Calcium Carbonate was 221737 metric tonne during 2010-11. It has decreased by -14.47% to 189649 metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. Its value was Rs. 22066 lakh during 2010-11 and Rs. 16759 lakh during 2011-12. Annual growth of 20.79% has been observed in import of Calcium Carbonate to 846195 metric tonne during 2017-18 versus 700559 metric tonne during 2016-17. In value term it was Rs. 60902 lakh and Rs. 64587 lakh during 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively.

We have seen annual growth of 65.99% in import of Carbon Black from 74905 metric tonne during 2010-11 to 124338 metric tonne during 2011-12. Its value was Rs. 45674 lakh and Rs. 85053 lakh during 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively. Import of Carbon Black was 186224 metric tonne during 2017-18, up by 44.65% against 128740 metric tonne during 2016-17. In value term it was Rs. 82424 lakh during 2016-17 and Rs. 143618 lakh during 2017-18.

Import of Hydrogen Peroxide 37074 metric tonne during 2010-11. It has decreased by -31.72% to 25313 metric tonne during 2011-12 over 2010-11. Its value was Rs. 9385 lakh during 2010-11 and Rs. 6378 lakh during 2011-12. Annual growth of 19.99% has been observed in import of Hydrogen Peroxide to 68474 metric tonne during 2017-18 versus 57068 metric tonne during 2016-17. In value term it was Rs. 15910 lakh and Rs. 19305 lakh during 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively.
