Power Supply Position during September, 2014

The 10 States/UTs with highest level of deficit in peak power supply during September 2014 are: Andaman and Nicobar Islands having deficit of -5 MW i.e. -25% (with peak requirement of 20 MW and peak power availability of 15); Arunachal Pradesh having deficit of -16 MW i.e. -22.9% (with peak requirement of 70 MW and peak power availability of 54); Tripura having deficit of -27 MW i.e. -22.5% (with peak requirement of 120 MW and peak power availability of 93); Uttar Pradesh having deficit of -2067 MW i.e. -22.2% (with peak requirement of 9322 MW and peak power availability of 7255); Jammu and Kashmir having deficit of -190 MW i.e. -19.9% (with peak requirement of 955 MW and peak power availability of 765); Assam having deficit of -137 MW i.e. -16.6% (with peak requirement of 825 MW and peak power availability of 688); Goa having deficit of -32 MW i.e. -10% (with peak requirement of 321 MW and peak power availability of 289); Meghalaya having deficit of -14 MW i.e. -9.7% (with peak requirement of 145 MW and peak power availability of 131); Nagaland having deficit of -5 MW i.e. -8.3% (with peak requirement of 60 MW and peak power availability of 55) and Manipur having deficit of -5 MW i.e. -7.7% (with peak requirement of 65 MW and peak power availability of 60).

At all India level, deficit was of -3682 MW i.e. -4.1% (with peak requirement of 89235 MW and peak power availability of 85553).

Note: # Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands are stand- alone systems, power supply position of these,does not form part of regional requirement and availability, NOTE: Cumulative figures for Andhra Pradesh includes the figures of undivided Andhra Pradesh ( including Telangana area) for the period Apr-May,2014. Cumulative figures of Telangana are w.e.f. Jun 2014 due to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana w.e.f. June, 2014.
