Power Generation in India from Renewable Energy sources during 2014-15 to 2018-19

India has witnessed an increasing trend in power generation from renewable energy sources during 2014-15 to 2017-18. We have observed compound annual growth rate of 18.13% in power generation from renewable energy sources during 2014-15 to 2017-18.

Generation of power was 61.78 billion units from renewable energy sources in India during 2014-15. It has increased by 6.47% to 65.78 billion units during 2015-16 over 2014-15. Annual growth of 23.97% has been seen in power generation from renewable energy sources during 2016-17 over 2015-16. Power generation was 101.84 billion units from renewable energy sources in India during 2017-18, up by 24.88% versus 81.55 billion units during 2016-17. Generation of power was 81.15 billion units from renewable energy sources in India during 2018-19 (up to Oct 2018).

Maximum annual growth rate of 24.88% found in 2017-18 and minimum annual growth rate of 6.47% observed in 2015-16 during the period from 2014-15 to 2017-18.
