Population of Prison Inmates in Sub Jails at the end of 2014

The number of prison inmates in Sub Jails in India at the end of 2014 was 40775. Out of these, the number of males was 39685, while the number of females was 1090. Thus, the percentage of male prison inmates was 97.33%, while the percentage of female prison inmates was 2.67%.

The top 10 states in terms of the population of prison inmates in Sub Jails at the end of 2014 were: Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Punjab.

The number of prison inmates in Sub Jails in Odisha at the end of 2014 was 7018. Out of these, the number of males was 6762, while the number of females was 256. Thus, the percentage of male prison inmates was 96.35%, while the percentage of female prison inmates was 3.65%.

The number of prison inmates in Sub Jails in Madhya Pradesh at the end of 2014 was 6218. Out of these, the number of males was 6218, while the number of females was nil. Thus, the percentage of male prison inmates was 100%, while the percentage of female prison inmates was nil.

The number of prison inmates in Sub Jails in West Bengal at the end of 2014 was 3780. Out of these, the number of males was 3584, while the number of females was 196. Thus, the percentage of male prison inmates was 94.81%, while the percentage of female prison inmates was 5.19%.

The number of prison inmates in Sub Jails in Rajasthan at the end of 2014 was 3415. Out of these, the number of males was 3406, while the number of females was 9. Thus, the percentage of male prison inmates was 99.74%, while the percentage of female prison inmates was 0.26%.
