Percentage Share of Registered Motor Vehicles during 2013-14 and 2014-15

The top 10 States and UTs in terms of the percentage share in registered motor vehicles during 2014-15 were Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

The percentage share of Maharashtra in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 12.3%. It decreased to 12.2% during 2014-15, recording a decrease of -0.1 percentage points as compared to 2013-14. The percentage share of Tamil Nadu in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 10.9%. It decreased to 10.7% during 2014-15, recording a decrease of -0.2 percentage points as compared to 2013-14. The percentage share of Uttar Pradesh in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 10%. It increased to 10.3% during 2014-15, recording an increase of 0.3 percentage points as compared to 2013-14.

The percentage share of Gujarat in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 9%. It decreased to 8.9% during 2014-15, recording a decrease of -0.1 percentage points as compared to 2013-14. The percentage share of Karnataka in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 7%. It remained stable at 7% during 2014-15.

The percentage share of Rajasthan in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 5.8%. It increased to 5.9% during 2014-15, recording an increase of 0.1 percentage points as compared to 2013-14. The percentage share of Madhya Pradesh in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 5.1%. It increased to 5.3% during 2014-15, recording an increase of 0.2 percentage points as compared to 2013-14. The percentage share of Kerala in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 4.6%. It remained stable at 4.6% during 2014-15.

The percentage share of Delhi in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 4.4%. It decreased to 4.2% during 2014-15, recording a decrease of -0.2 percentage points as compared to 2013-14.  The percentage share of Andhra Pradesh in registered motor vehicles during 2013-14 was 3.7%. It increased to 3.8% during 2014-15, recording an increase of 0.1 percentage points as compared to 2013-14.
