Percentage Share of Enrolment in Pre-primary Classes to Total Enrolment

Increasing trend has been seen in India in Share of Enrolment in Pre-primary Classes to Total Enrolment (8.39% in 2011-12 and 8.64% in 2012-13). Meghalaya, Nagaland and Puducherry State/UT have the higher Share of Enrolment in Pre-primary Classes to Total Enrolment in both 2011-12 and 2012-13 in comparison to other states. Meghalaya has the highest Share of Enrolment in Pre-primary Classes to Total Enrolment 51.16% in 2011-12 and 49.45% in 2012-13. Eleven States viz. Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are below the National estimate 8.64% in 2012-13.
