Percentage Share of Different Telecom Indicators in January 2015 and February 2015

The percentage share of Wireline to Total Phones was 2.74% in January 2015. It decreased to 2.71% in February 2015, recording a decrease of -0.03 percentage points as compared to January 2015. The percentage share of Wireless to Total Phones was 97.26% in January 2015. It increased to 97.29% in February 2015, recording a growth of 0.03 percentage points as compared to January 2015. Thus, there was an increase in the share of Wireless in the total phones in February 2015 as compared to January 2015.

The percentage share of Rural to Total Phones was 41.29% in January 2015. It increased to 41.38% in February 2015, recording a growth of 0.09 percentage points as compared to January 2015. The percentage share of Urban to Total Phones was 58.71% in January 2015. It decreased to 58.62% in February 2015, recording a decrease of -0.09 percentage points as compared to January 2015. Thus, there was an increase in the share of Rural in the total phones in February 2015 as compared to January 2015.

The percentage share of Public to Total Phones was 10.62% in January 2015. It decreased to 10.26% in February 2015, recording a decrease of -0.36 percentage points as compared to January 2015. The percentage share of Private to Total Phones was 89.38% in January 2015. It increased to 89.74% in February 2015, recording a growth of 0.36 percentage points as compared to January 2015. Thus, there was an increase in the share of Private in the total phones in February 2015 as compared to January 2015.

Therefore, it can be said that percentage shares of Wireless, Rural and Private phones have increased as compared to Wireline, Urban and Public phones respectively during the period under consideration.
