Percentage of Population getting Safe and Adequate Drinking Water within Premises through PWS in Rural Areas in India from 2015-16 to 2019-20

India has witnessed an increasing trend in percentage of population getting safe and adequate drinking water within premises through pipe water supply (PWS) in Rural Areas in India from 2015-16 to 2019-20. The percentage of population getting safe and adequate drinking water within premises through PWS was 35.76% in rural areas in India during 2015-16. It has surged by 0.76% to 36.52% during 2016-17 over 2015-16. We have seen annual growth of 2.73% in percentage of population getting safe and adequate drinking water within premises through PWS in rural areas in India during 2018-19 from 37.85% during 2017-18. The percentage of population getting safe and adequate drinking water within premises through PWS in rural areas in India was 42.49 % during 2019-20, up by 1.91% against 40.58% during 2018-19.

The maximum value of 42.49% has been seen in 2019-20 in percentage of population getting safe and adequate drinking water within premises through PWS in rural areas in India during the period under consideration.
