According to NFHS-4, Percentage of Men (age 15-49 years) who have comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS was 32.3% in 2015-16 in India, whereas it was 29.3% in rural areas of India and 37.4% in urban areas of India during 2015-16.
There were nineteen States/UTs which were seen above the national value of 32.3% Men (age 15-49 years) who have comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS in 2015-16. Mizoram had the highest of 68.2% Men (age 15-49 years) who have comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS, followed by Chandigarh, Punjab, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Chattisgarh and Odisha with 66.4%, 62.3%, 57.9%, 55.5%, 50.8%, 49.8%, 48.5%, 44.5%, 44.4%, 44%, 41.9%, 37.6%, 37.4%, 36.8%, 36.5%, 36.1%, 35.8% and 32.8% respectively in 2015-16.
Among the rest 17 States/UTs namely Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, Assam, Jharkhand, Puducherry, Meghalaya, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Tamil Nadu; Tamil Nadu had the lowest of 10.9% Men (age 15-49 years) who have comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS during 2015-16.
