Percentage of Government Schools with functional of separate Girls’ Toilets as per UDISE 2016-17

According to the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) 2016-17, 98.07% of Government schools in the country have separate girls’ toilets and 96.54% have functional girls’ toilets.

There were 23 States/UTs namely Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Kerala, Karnataka, Sikkim, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Telangana, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh seen above the national average of 96.54% of Government schools with functional of separate girls’ toilets as per UDISE 2016-17. Out of these 23 States/UTs; Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry were seen with 100% of Government schools with functional of separate girls’ toilets as per UDISE 2016-17.

According to UDISE 2016-17, thirteen States/UTs namely Manipur (86.19%), Tripura (86.25%), Andhra Pradesh (89.38%), Meghalaya (90.74%), Mizoram (91.52%), Bihar (92.24%), Uttarakhand (93.27%), Madhya Pradesh (94.59%), Arunachal Pradesh (94.62%), Assam (94.72%), Nagaland (95.2%), Odisha (95.63%) and Chhattisgarh (96.09%) were seen below the national percentage of Government schools with functional of separate girls’ toilets.
