Per capita availability of milk in India during 1955-56 to 2011-12

The per capita availability of milk was at 132 gram/day in 1955-56 and increased to 290 gram/day in 2011-12. There has been steady increase in per capita availability of milk since 1973-74 with a marginally fluctuation in the intermittent periods however it has sharply increased from 225 gram/day in 2003-04 to 290 gram/day in 2011-12.

In the 11th five year plan (2007-12) the per capita availability of milk increased from 260 gram/day to 290 gram/day.
