#OpenGovDataHack National Award Ceremony

The Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India (https://data.gov.in) has been set-up by National Informatics Centre (NIC) in compliance with the Open Data Policy – National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy (NDSAP). The objective of the policy is to provide proactive access to Government owned shareable data. Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India is at the forefront in promoting innovation in Open Data ecosystem in India.

National Informatics Centre (NIC) in association with Internet & Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has organized Hackathon – “#OpenGovDataHack” for Students, Entrepreneurs, Innovators, Start-ups, Developers and Community to create unique and innovative service delivery Applications & Info-Graphics to foster innovation. The sectors selected for the Hackathon were Water & Sanitation, Transport, Education, Crime and Health.

#OpenGovDataHack was held in 7 cities across the country as well as online. The Esteemed Jury under the Chairmanship of Secretary, MeitY, evaluated the shortlisted Apps and selected One Winner, One 1st runner-up, Two 2nd runner-ups and Eight consolation awards, which were given to the teams in the National Award Ceremony at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 01-Nov-2018.

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Government of India felicitated the awardees.

There was huge participation of around 400 people from Govt., Academia, Students, Entrepreneurs, Innovators, Start-ups, Developers, Community, Media etc. including awardees and finalists for the #OpenGovDataHack National Award Ceremony.
